Inside UK’s messiest bedrooms with fast food containers on floor and dead plants

If you think your bedroom is untidy, you might just want to think again…

That’s because the UK’s messiest bedroom has officially been revealed, so you can rest assured that yours probably isn’t all that bad.

A nationwide competition to search for the filthiest bedroom has revealed that it belongs to a woman named Sara from County Down, Northern Ireland.

Sara’s room is completely covered in rubbish and clutter, from McDonald’s containers and biscuit wrappers on the floor, to an unmade bed and a dead plant.

As winner of the competition, which was run by Bed SOS, she has won a brand new bed worth £400 from Bed SOS – fingers crossed she finds space for it in there!

More than 300 Brits entered the annual competition, sharing photos of their messy rooms.

Entries featured all manner of clutter from judicious use of the ‘floordrobe’ to empty beer bottles strewn across the room and all over the bed.

Danny Richmond, Managing Director of Bed SOS, said: “Aside from how cluttered some of the entries are, we were most shocked by just how many people sent in pictures of their messy bedrooms!

“Looks like there’s a lot more people who could do with giving their room some TLC than you’d expect.”

He added: “Congratulations to our winner, Sara, with the messiest bedroom. Don’t worry though, with so many entries, clearly you’re in good company. We hope you enjoy your new bed… but it might be worth having a declutter before it arrives.”

Runners up in the competition included Luke from Havering, who shared a snap of his room, where there was an entire pizza and some garlic bread on the floor.

Vishal from Northampton also shared a shocking image of a former tenant’s room that took 52 black bin bags to clean.

Meanwhile Sel from Norfolk submitted an amusing photo of their toddler’s room strewn with toys, claiming it only took the child “five minutes” to make the mess – hopefully it will be just as quick to tidy it up!
